Template

1) Language, File Format, and Page Setup

Manuscripts must be written in academic English and prepared on A4-size paper. The manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Page margins (A4):

  • Top: 2.54 cm

  • Bottom: 2.54 cm

  • Left: 2.54 cm

  • Right: 2.54 cm

2) Fonts, Spacing, and General Formatting

  • Font: Cambria

  • Font size: 20 pt for main text (recommended for readability in business/economics)
(If you prefer 10 pt as in your draft, I can set it to 10 pt across the guideline.)

  • Line spacing: single-spaced for the full manuscript

  • Paragraph spacing: one blank line between paragraphs (do not indent first line)

  • Do not use excessive manual spacing; keep the layout clean and consistent.

3) First Page Structure

The first page must include, in this order:

Title (centered, bold)
Author(s) full name(s) (centered)
Affiliation(s) (centered)
Corresponding author email (official institutional email is preferred)

Then include:

ABSTRACT (left-aligned; italic heading recommended)

  • Maximum length: 150–250 words

  • The abstract should briefly include: objective, method, key findings, and contribution.

Keywords:

  • 5–8 keywords

  • Use keywords that reflect constructs, method, and context (e.g., “service quality”, “institutional trust”, “PLS-SEM”, “Thailand”, “OTAs”).

4) Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be placed as close as possible to where they are first mentioned in the text.

  • If necessary, place them on the immediately following page.

  • The content must fit within the page margins and remain readable.

5) Captions, Numbering, and Placement

  • Use Arabic numerals for tables and figures:

    • Table 1, Table 2, …

    • Figure 1, Figure 2, …

  • Table caption goes above the table.

  • Figure caption goes below the figure.

  • Capitalize the first letter of the caption sentence.

  • Refer to figures and tables in the text using “Figure 1” and “Table 1” (do not use “Fig.” unless the journal enforces that format).

6) Section Headings

Oikonomia uses a standard academic structure and clear headings.

Recommended structure:

  1. Introduction

  2. Literature Review and Hypotheses Development (or Conceptual Framework)

  3. Methodology

  4. Results

  5. Discussion

  6. Conclusion

  7. References

Heading rules:

  • Main headings should be numbered (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Literature Review, etc.).

  • Subheadings should follow hierarchical numbering if used (e.g., 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, etc.).

  • Use consistent capitalization:

    • Main headings: Title Case (recommended) or ALL CAPS (choose one style and keep it consistent).

    • Subheadings: Title Case.

7) Length Limit and Pagination

  • Maximum length: 25 pages, including tables and figures.

  • Do not add page numbers (pagination will be handled by the journal during layout).

8) Citations and References (APA 7th)

Oikonomia requires APA 7th edition for in-text citations and references.

In-text citation examples:

  • One author: (Kotler & Keller, 2012)

  • Two authors: (Hair et al., 2020)

  • Organization: (Ministry of Tourism and Sports, 2024)

  • Direct quote (with page): (Kotler & Keller, 2012, p. 45)

Reference list rules:

  • Place all references at the end under the heading References.

  • Arrange entries alphabetically by the first author’s surname.

  • Use hanging indent (0.5 inch / 1.27 cm).

  • Include DOI when available; if DOI is not available, include a stable URL for webpages.

9) Author Contributions and Biographical Note (Optional)

If required by the editor, include a brief Author Biography section after References.

BIOGRAPHY (left-aligned)

  • Maximum: 100 words per author

  • Include: name, highest degree, affiliation, research interests, and professional memberships (if any).

10) Editorial Rights

The Editorial Office reserves the right to edit formatting and language for consistency, clarity, and journal style. Substantive content changes will not be made without author approval.

What’s included in the file:

  • Header & footer (journal name, manuscript ID, date, page number)

  • Structured evaluation sections (A–K)

  • Checkboxes and short-answer spaces for reviewer comments

  • Scoring boxes for novelty/relevance/contribution clarity

  • Clear editorial recommendation options (Accept / Minor / Major / Reject)

Recommended use:

  • Reviewers complete the sheet and upload it as “Reviewer Attachment”

  • Editors may use the sheet for desk screening prior to external review
